Skin Safety Pointers

We all forget to apply sunscreen until it's too late.  It doesn't matter what skin type or color a person has.  Every skin needs protection against the sun.  Incorporating this process into morning beauty care or a simple skin-care routine will help prevent skin cancer and early skin aging.

Sigma Primary Care Simple Skin Care Protection:

1.  Have a broad-spectrum sunscreen SPF 30+ or higher.

2.  First off, apply daily moisturizer after facial cleansing.  Let the moisturizer absorb into the skin for 3-4 minutes.  This allows for skin hydration, prevents the sunscreen from clumping, and creates a smooth coverage.

3.  Then apply sunscreen.  Wait 10-15 minutes before applying foundation or powder.  This will allow the sunscreen to absorb into the skin and provide an even protective barrier. It is crucial to let it dry.  If not, the foundation application will thin out the sunscreen if applied too soon.

4.  Apply foundation and let it set for 4-5 minutes before applying powder.  This process prevents uneven powder application and also prevents the powder from appearing darker on the skin.

5. Re-apply sunscreen every 3-4 hours!  Remember, standard window glass still allows approximately 74% UVA rays to pass through.
